Shihezi University is the second-largest university in Xinjiang, the predecessor of the university was established in September 1949 by the liberation of the People’s Liberation Army of Xinjiang, in April 1996 the Ministry of Agriculture, Shihezi Agricultural University, Shihezi Medical School, Corps and Corps Economic University Teacher Training College were merged into form. MBBS in Shihezi University is a national “211 project” for major construction universities, colleges and high schools in Western countries.
Shihezi University currently has 11 disciplines: economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and the arts. There are 94 undergraduate programs, 8 first-degree doctoral programs, 26 first-degree master’s programs, 20 master’s degree programs, 4 mobile postdoctoral research stations, and 2 postdoctoral research stations.

Department of Medicine
Shihezi University School of Medicine has 9 departments, including Clinical Medicine (MBBS), Basic Medicine, Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Dentistry, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Imaging, Anesthesiology and Pathology; and offers 6 undergraduate specialties in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Preventive Medicine, BDS in Dentistry, Medical Imaging and Medical Laboratory Technology, of which Clinical Medicine is the national specialty.
Medical Laboratories
The Faculty of Medicine has excellent teaching and research facilities. Shihezi University has a campus area of 1.82 million square meters.
A building area of 1.17 million square meters, a laboratory area of 150,000 square meters and vegetation coverage of 43%. The school has a number of important buildings such as a well-equipped library.
A gymnasium, a swimming pool, an athletic hall, an auditorium, and a general education building, as well as four affiliated hospitals. In 2011, the school was awarded the “National Civilized Unit” award. Shihezi School has 2550 employees and 1665 full-time teachers.

Shihezi University Scholarship
Shihezi University offers some form of scholarship to outstanding students at the end of the year. Shihezi University offers scholarships for higher education through the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Students can apply for almost all types of postgraduate courses offered by Shihezi University, and our university gives preference to former students who graduated from Shihezi University and outstanding students who graduated only from universities listed by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Shihezi University offers postgraduate programs in medicine and agriculture under the CSC scholarship.
Shihezi and Peking University
In 2010, the group leader is Peking University, the deputy group leaders are Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
East China University of Science and Technology and Central China Agricultural University, the members are Chongqing University, Jiangnan University and University of International Business and Economics, and Nanjing Normal University and South China Agricultural University, which support Shihezi University.
